All aboard Platform 8 for The Ghost Train
This classic ghost story was written in 1923 by Arnold Ridley, born and bred in Bath and who later became the iconic Private Godfrey in Dad’s Army. Ridley was inspired to write this spine tingling play after becoming stranded overnight at Mangotsfield railway station in Bristol.
Set in a secluded Cornish railway station we spend a long night with the stranded passengers, who only have a local station master and a thunderstorm to keep them company. What is outside on the station platform? What is the truth about the train that thunders through the station at midnight? And who is singing Rock of Ages?
Our stranded travellers hope they never learn the answers to these questions!
Platform 8 have previously brought you the hilarious Out of Order by Ray Cooney and the critically acclaimed Diary of Anne Frank.
