Bath university theatre presents

arsenic and old lace

by joseph kesselring

Arsenic and Old Lace is the story of two little old ladies and their three nephews, one of whom is a theatre critic, another is a mass murderer and the third thinks he’s Theodore Roosevelt. Bath University Student Theatre invite you to join them in the house of Abby and Martha Brewster for an evening of fun, frolics and multiple homicide as they explore the lives of the two sweetest murderers you’ll ever meet. Remember, don’t touch the elderberry wine!

This iconic play was first written by Joseph Kesselring in 1939 making it perhaps the first ‘black comedy’ ever to be written. It is perhaps most famous for the 1944 film version starring Cary Grant, described as ‘good macabre fun’. We are delighted to welcome this new production by Bath University Student Theatre (BUST) whose previous productions at The Mission include Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None and G.B.Shaw’s Pygmalion.
