1. What sort of refreshments are available at The Mission Theatre?

The Mission Theatre operates a fully licenced Theatre Bar which serves a selection of alcoholic and soft drinks as well as cakes* and savoury snacks including crisps and peanuts*. The Bar is open 45 minutes before most productions and during the interval. 

*Peanuts in packets are served on both of our bars and some of our cakes contain almonds and traces of nuts. Please ask staff for further information on allergens if required.

2. Is there a youth drama group that meets at the theatre?

Next Stage Youth meets on a Sunday from
16:30 - 18:00 at our partner venue, Burdall’s Yard. The group is made up of 11-18 year olds tutored by Next Stage actors. We operate in 3 terms of 10 weeks each and observe school holiday dates. Call 01225 428600 or visit the Next Stage website for more information.

3. Is the theatre open to visitors during the day?

The Mission is frequently used for corporate events, festivals and matinee performances in the daytime and is therefore not available for tours. Our office is open from 9:30 - 17:30, Monday to Friday if you wish to speak to a member of staff or book Next Stage tickets in-person.

4. Is there parking available at the theatre?

Avon Street Car Park is opposite the theatre and is free of charge after 20:00. There is also some on-road parking near the theatre during evenings and weekends.

5. What sort of events could the theatre be hired for?

The Mission Theatre is primarily a performance space, so whilst we host occasional functions and corporate events, our prime objective is to bring performing arts to the space.

6. Can you pay for tickets with a debit card?

Next Stage Box Office does accept debit cards however, this form of payment can be made in person or online. Alternatively payments can be made by cash or a cheque made payable to Next Stage. Any events at The Mission that are ticketed by Bath Box Office can be paid for on a card via phone (01225 463362) or their website www.bathboxoffice.org.uk.

7. Are there wheelchair accessible facilities?

The Mission Theatre Main Auditorium has full wheelchair access and ground-floor toilets. Although the Theatre Upstairs and the upstairs bar cannot be accessed by individuals with mobility problems, before most performances we run a downstairs bar which has full accessibility.

8. Does the theatre offer work experience placements?

The Mission Theatre does not offer work experience to school pupils or students. Anyone who is over 18 and interested in volunteering front-of-house should contact the Theatre Manager.

9. Does the theatre engage in any community outreach programmes?

The resident company at The Mission Theatre, Next Stage Theatre Company, has been delivering Theatre in Education projects for over 17 years. A team of professionals produce workshops for children of all ages and abilities, and tailor these to suit each school’s specific needs.
