MissionArt at The
Mission Theatre, Bath
Christine Meadows of Christine Meadows Consultancy is
pleased to announce the launch of MissionArt, the newly created
art space in The Bistro Upstairs at The Mission Theatre, 32 Corn
Street, Bath, BA1 1UF.
“I am delighted that a long-held wish of mine to see
local artists’ work displayed at theMission Theatre has been realised”,
said Ann Garner, Artistic Director of The Mission Theatre.
The first exhibition
Christine will run will include works by local artists Irma Marks
and Suzanne Evans. The exhibition will run from 8th May-20th
July 2008.
Irma
Marks has lived in Somerset for many years, but comes originally
from Colombia, South America. Irma’s paintings are inspired by the
culture of the tropics and capture feelings awakened by the rich flora
of her country.
Suzanne Evans trained and worked in graphic design and illustration
before fulfilling a long held ambition to paint three years ago. Suzanne
has been working with the fundamental painterly values of light, colour
and surface mostly through still life and landscape.
The Mission Theatre is a
vibrant and busy venue for all manner of events such as plays,
festivals, drama workshops, educational initiatives, live music,
concerts and a wide range of corporate events. The highly popular Bistro
is open weekdays from 10:30am-2:30pm, serving delicious freshly cooked
and prepared meals and snacks provided by Bath caterer Viv Rogers of
Ramscombe Kitchen Foods.
MissionArt can be viewed
daily at The Mission Theatre, Monday to Friday, 10:30am-2:30pm and at
weekends and evenings when there are public events at the theatre.
