The Tragedy of Julius Caesar

  • The Mission Theatre 32 Corn Street Bath, BA1 1UF United Kingdom (map)

by William Shakespeare, presented by Wax Wings Theatre Company

Friday 6th – Saturday 7th February 7:00pm, Matinee Saturday 7th February 2:00pm

“Friends, Romans, Countrymen, lend me your ears”

God is king, but Caesar rules.

Step into a brilliantly reimagined world of Shakespeare’s classic. Set deep in the bowels of the Catholic Church, we find an almighty Caesar preaching to the masses, but his pulpit is unsteady and his fellow church members recoil at his forward-thinking teachings.

Watch Cassius, the snake in the garden, build his traitorous army against Rome’s Saint until the only thing left between outright war and peace is Brutus’ weak conscience. Morality and consequences are the last thing on anyone’s mind in this holy place.

In Shakespeare’s original script, follow this old story down a new path.
