A Solo Performance Exploring Migration, Identity and the Space
Between Languages. This May, Bath audiences are invited to experience an intimate and
physically driven solo performance that explores displacement, identity,
and the emotional landscape of starting over.
Written and performed by Cardiff-based artist Melika Radmand, the
piece unfolds through a series of fragmented episodes where memory
becomes physical and language begins to shift. Stripped back in form
and staging, the work relies on presence, embodiment and silence as
much as words. The performance examines what it means to leave home — not only
geographically, but internally. Moving between departure and arrival, the
central figure navigates the fragile space between languages, cultures
and versions of self. Rather than presenting migration as spectacle, the
piece offers a close, human-scale encounter with its emotional textures.
Minimal in design and intimate in tone, the production invites audiences
into a shared space of vulnerability. It asks: when home no longer exists
as a fixed place, what remains?
Melika Radmand holds an MA in Drama and works across performance
and storytelling, with a focus on embodied narrative and personal
dramaturgy.
